Men’s Tennis Fall Schedule Released


University of Louisville men’s tennis head coach Rodrigo da Silva has released the Cardinals’ 2022 fall schedule. The fall slate features seven tournaments with Louisville hosting the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Ohio Valley Regional Championships for the first time in program history.
   
The Cards will open the season at the University of Kentucky Invitational which will take place September 15-18 in Lexington, Kentucky.
   
Fall action continues the weekend of September 29 when select members of the team will travel to the Michigan State Invitational, Alabama Invitational, and the ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
   
Louisville will return home for the ITA Ohio Regional Championships which will be held October 13-17 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center and Bellarmine’s Eddie Weber Tennis Complex. Both the singles and doubles champions of the tournament will qualify for the ITA National Fall Championships at the end of the season. Over 8,000 NCAA athletes are set to compete in ITA Regional Championships around the United States. 
   
Following the Cardinals’ only home tournament of the season, the team will travel to the Notre Dame Invitational October 27-30 and wrap up fall play at the Wake Forest Invitational November 3-6.

About Louisville Men’s Tennis

This fall, Louisville returns four players from last year’s team which finished the season with an 19-9 overall record and an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament. The Cards reached the semifinals of the ACC Championship for the first time in program history after earning the No. 4 seed with a program-best nine wins in conference play.  As a team, the Cardinals appeared in the ITA team rankings 11 times, with a season-high ranking of 23.
