ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Michigan State men’s tennis heads to Michigan’s Varsity Tennis Center for the final tournament of the fall season at Big Ten Indoors. Action begins on Friday, Nov. 4 and runs through Monday, Nov. 7.
Three Spartans – sophomore Max Sheldon, junior Graydon Lair and senior Kazuki Matsuno – will compete throughout the weekend.
MSU opens play on Friday in the first round of doubles at 9 a.m., followed by the second round of doubles and first round of singles. Doubles quarterfinals and semifinals, as well as the second and third round of singles, will take place Saturday, and singles quarterfinals and seminfinals along with the doubles final are scheduled for Sunday. The tournament wraps up with the singles final on Monday.
The trio of Spartans have posted impressive results during the fall season, including Sheldon winning his first match at No. 1 in singles at the Princeton Invite on Sept. 26. Sheldon also played at the ITA Midwest Regional, while Lair played in the prequalifying round at the ITA All-American Championships. Matsuno has picked up several wins in doubles and singles play throughout the fall season.
