LEXINGTON, K.Y. – Illinois men’s tennis fell to No. 4 Kentucky, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in Lexington.
The sole point for the Illini came from a 6-4, 6-4 win from sophomore Karlis Ozolins against Alafia Ayeni in singles play.
Hunter Heck fought hard against his opponent, Liam Draxl, but lost 7-5, 6-2.
In doubles, Heck and Lucas Horve worked hard in their match, but narrowly fell, 6-4, to Alafia Ayeni and Liam Draxl. Oliver Okonkwo and Mathis Debru also lost their match, 6-4, to Joshua Lapadat and JJ Mercer.
The Illini look to bounce back against No. 2 Ohio State Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Columbus.
