Lancelot Gains 4 Wins at ITA Southeast Regional

ATLANTA, Ga. – Florida State sophomore Olympe Lancelot gained four victories – two in singles and two in doubles – on the first day of the ITA Division I Women’s Southeast Regional Championship at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex at Georgia Tech.  Her two singles victories over Sophia Unger of Kennesaw State and Amber McGinnis of Florida Atlantic earned her s spot in the singles main draw, with bracket play beginning Friday at 9 a.m.

The five-day tournament began on Thursday and runs through Monday.

Lancelot is joined by seven of her Seminole teammates – Vic Allen, Alice Amendola, Anna Arkadianou, Kristyna Lavickova, Kianah Motosono, Mila Saric and Ellie Schoppe – in the main draw as play gets under way in the on Friday.

Play in the main draw starts Friday at 9 a.m. The participants will play one round of doubles (round of 32) followed by two rounds of singles (rounds of 64 and 32). The singles competition is scheduled to start approximately 11 a.m. All matches will be played outside unless inclement weather.

In doubles play on Friday, Lancelot plays with teammate Cade Cricchio in the semifinals of the doubles draw.  The Seminole pair gained wins over Jordana Ossa and Fanny Norin of Florida Gulf Coast (8-6) and Sofia Pinedo and Sophia Unger of Kennesaw State (8-6).  They are set to face Noa Cohen and Nadejda Maslova of Stetson in their first match on Friday.
