Jin, Kim Claim SEC Postseason Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida freshmen Aidan Kim and Jeremy Jin have been elected to both the 2024 All-SEC second team and SEC All-Freshman team. The accolades come after a 2024 regular season that saw the pair of first-year phenoms find success in the top two positions of Florida’s lineup. This is the first time in Florida’s program history that the Gators have had two players receive both an All-SEC team and All-Freshman team honor.

Jin, a native of Australia, slotted into the court one singles position for Florida for all 14 of the Gators’ matches against SEC opponents this season. Jin started his dual season hot, holding a 6-1 record in singles matches after the opening weekend of conference play. Jin was named SEC Freshman of the Week for his efforts during that first weekend of conference play, with victories against current No. 23-ranked Raphael Perot of Texas A&M and 5th-year senior Stefan Latinovic of LSU. Jin collected five ranked wins in his first dual season, the highest of which came on March 17, when Jin defeated then-No. 46 Filip Planinsek of Alabama, who himself was named to the All-SEC first team. Jin currently sits at a season-high No. 52 singles ranking per ITA.

Kim manned court two singles for all but one of Florida’s SEC matches, playing to an 8-6 record in conference play, with three ranked wins in that stretch. His highest ranked win came against No. 58 Ryan Colby of Georgia, when Kim battled back from a 1-6 first set loss to win 1-6, 6-1, 7-5. Kim was awarded SEC Freshman of the week honors for that performance in Athens, as the Gators . Kim and Junior Nate Bonetto became Florida’s top doubles duo, with the pairing claiming four ranked winning sets in doubles. The pair is currently ranked as the No. 26 doubles tandem in the nation.

First-team and second-team All-SEC honorees, All-Freshman team, along with Player, Coach and Freshman of the Year were chosen by the league’s 13 coaches. Coaches cannot vote for their own players and ties are not broken.
