ITA Tabs Illini All-Academic Team, Six Named Scholar-Athletes


CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Six Fighting Illini student-athletes and the team as a whole have been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for outstanding work on the court and in the classroom during the 2022-23 campaign.

With a team GPA of 3.64 for the season, Evan Clark‘s squad earned ITA All-Academic Team honors. Additionally, Emily Casati, Kida Ferrari, Josie Frazier, Megan Heuser, Kasia Treiber and Ashley Yeah were all tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes.

For a team to be eligible for recognition, they must combine for a GPA of 3.20 or better across the school year. Individuals had to earn a 3.50 GPA or better across the school year to earn Scholar-Athlete distinctions.

Frazier and Yeah have earned Scholar-Athlete honors four times in the careers followed by Casati at three times and Ferrari, Heuser and Treiber twice now.
