ITA Northwest Regionals

SEATTLE —

It’s the first serve of the fall for the Husky men’s tennis team, as Washington ventures east to Spokane where Gonzaga plays host to the ITA Northwest Regional Championships. Five Dawgs will be making their 2022-23 debuts, including one redshirt and one true freshman who are poised for their first collegiate matches.

ITA Northwest Regionals will take place at Gonzaga’s Stevens Center, and players are trying to earn spots into the next stage of regionals, the ITA Super Regionals, which Stanford will host from Oct. 21-24. Winners there will earn a spot at the ITA National Fall Championships.

Along with the Huskies and host Bulldogs, players from Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Eastern Washington, and Seattle U will be in the fields.

Huskies heading east this week include Han-Chih Lin, who is the No. 2 overall seed in singles, Nedim Suko, Rikuto Yamaguchi, Jacob Sleight, and Brett Pearson. Sleight, a redshirt freshman, and Pearson, a true freshman, are set to make their UW debuts. Doubles tandems are set to be Lin and Suko, and Pearson and Yamaguchi.
