CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Former Illini Zeke Clark and current Illini Alex Petrov and Hunter Heck all were victorious on the fourth day of the Neitzel Family Open, a $15,000 USTA Professional Tennis Circuit Event hosted at Atkins Tennis Center.
Heck started the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Axel Nefve before Clark took his 6-3, 6-4 win over Marko Stakusic.
Sophomore Kenta Miyoshi took the first loss in the day, falling 7-6 (5), 6-4 to William Grant. Petrov turned things around with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Gabriele Thomas Brancatelli.
Oliver Okonkwo dropped his match, 6-3, 6-1 to Patrick Maloney before Miyoshi and Clark won their doubles match, 6-2, 2-6, 10-8, over Gabriel Evans and Chad Kissell moving themselves onto the semifinals as well.
