Four Flight Champions Crowned At UNF Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Florida State won four flight championships (two in singles and one in doubles), were finalists in a fourth flight (doubles) and won a total of 32 matches as play in the UNF Invitational and the UNF Tennis complex came to a close. The Seminole won 15 matches on Day 1 and 17 on Day 2 as each Florida State player recorded at least four wins wile all playing singles and doubles matches.

Junior Anna Arkadianou (Singles Flight Champion), graduate student Mila Saric (Single Flight Champion), redshirt sophomore Alice Amendola, and the team of senior Kianah Motosono and junior Ellie Schoppe (Doubles Flight Champions) all won flight championships as play in the fall season ending two-day event came to a close.

A total of nine Seminoles completed in the event and five FSU players – Arkadianou, Millie Bissett, Olympe Saric and Ellie Schoppe — earned five wins in over the weekend. Arkadianou, Lancelot, and Saric all finished with 3-0 records in singles play, while Motosono, Schoppe and Cade Cricchio all finished with 2-0 records in doubles play.

Arkadianou and Vic Allen finished with a 2-1 record as doubles partners and as flight finalists.

With its fall season now complete, the Seminoles look ahead to the beginning of their spring season at the 14th Annual ITA Kickoff Weekend at Stanford University (Jan. 27-30). The weekend tournament takes place at various facilities across the country. The regional winners advance to the 2023 ITA Indoor National Championships, in Seattle, Wash.
