Florida State, Miami, Louisville and Wake Forest Advance in ACC Men's Tennis Championship


CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State, Miami, Louisville and Wake Forest advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Championship after each posted wins on Thursday at the Cary Tennis Park.

No. 5 Florida State blanked No. 12 Clemson, 4-0, in the first match of the day, while No. 8 Miami battled No. 9 Georgia Tech to a 4-2 victory. No. 6 Wake Forest posted a commanding 4-1 win over No. 11 Virginia Tech before No. 7 Louisville and No. 10 Notre Dame took it down to the wire to close out the night. With the match knotted at 3-3, it came down to the final rally between Louisville’s Andre Steinbach and Notre Dame’s Yu Zhang with Steinbach taking the final match on Court Five for the Cardinals.

 

The quarterfinals start at 3:30 p.m. Friday with top-seeded Virginia facing off with No. 8 Miami and No. 4 North Carolina battling No. 5 Florida State. The 6 p.m. quarterfinals feature No. 2 Duke playing No. 7 Louisville and No. 3 NC State battling the No. 6 Wake Forest winner.

 

The semifinals will be played at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the championship match slated for 2 p.m. Sunday.

 

The Saturday semifinal match featuring the highest remaining seed and the Sunday championship match will broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.

 

Single day tickets are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older; children under 9 and ACC students get in free with school ID) and $7 for youth ages 17 and under.
