Duke Set for ITA Sectional Championship


DURHAM, N.C. – Duke men’s tennis heads to Chapel Hill for the 2024 ITA Sectional Championship this weekend. The singles draw include 32 entries while the doubles draw has 16 pairs. 
 
Representing Duke in Chapel Hill will be Gerard Planelles Ripoll, Pedro RodenasCooper Williams and Theo Winegar. In singles, Williams is the lone Blue Devil. As the No. 2 seed in the bracket he will take on Yale’s Krish Gupta in the opening round at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Williams and Winegar pair in doubles and face Adit Sinha and Nathan Mao of Cornell in round one. Planelles Ripoll and Rodenas open with No. 2 seed Nicolas Kotzen and Max Westphal of Columbia. Both matches will occur Thursday afternoon. 

The remainder of the weekend schedule will be determined by Thursday’s results.
