DURHAM – No. 12 Duke turns its attention to the 2024 ACC Championship where it will face No. 28 North Carolina in the quarterfinal round on Friday morning at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

 

The Blue Devils (17-8, 9-3 ACC) secured the fourth seed, while the Tar Heels (14-8, 7-5 ACC) are slotted as the fifth seed in the tournament. North Carolina defeated 12th-seeded Miami on Thursday morning, 4-0, to advance to Friday’s quarterfinals.

 

The winner of Friday’s match will advance to face the winner of the Virginia (top seed) and Clemson (ninth seed) quarterfinal contest in Saturday’s semifinals at 10 a.m.

 

Single day tickets are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $7 for youth ages 17 and under. Admission is free for children 9 and under. ACC college students get in free with school ID. A full championship pass for all five days is priced at $25. All seating for the tournament is General Admission.

Duke’s top doubles duo of redshirt senior Garrett Johns and sophomore Pedro Rodenas reached their highest career ranking together, coming in as the top team nationally in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) tennis rankings.

 

The Blue Devil pairing was listed at No. 3 heading into last weekend but defeated the No. 1 and No. 79 ranked doubles teams to secure their new position at the top. The twosome is currently riding a nine-match winning streak and are 11-2 this season against nationally ranked opponents.

 

Johns and Rodenas also both earned a spot in the newest singles rankings. Johns is ranked No. 22 and holds a 15-4 dual-match ledger this year. The Atlanta, Ga., native holds a 13-3 record on court one and is 9-3 against nationally ranked foes. Rodenas, this week’s ACC Player of the Week, was listed at No. 43 and has a team-leading 11 victories over nationally ranked opponents this season.
