NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s tennis team will travel east to Knoxville, Tennessee, to compete in the ITA Women’s Kickoff Weekend Jan. 26–29, 2024, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced in a news release.
The No. 30 Commodores will face off against No. 14 Tennessee, No. 16 Miami and No. 25 USC. As the fourth seed at the Knoxville regional, Vanderbilt will play first-seed Tennessee in the opening match. The winner of the regional will punch their ticket to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships Feb. 9–12.
Last season, the Dores beat Furman and NC State to secure their spot in Seattle for the 2023 ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
Next year’s 15 host sites were decided by the 2023 year-end rankings, and the remaining teams selected where they wanted to play starting with the No. 16-ranked team in the year-end rankings and moving up until all spots were filled.
