SEATTLE – The Husky women’s tennis team (5-0) took down Boise State Friday night to remain undefeated early on in the season.
Two wins from No. 1 and No. 3 doubles gave the Dawgs a quick 1-0 lead.
Singles took a bit longer, with the final two matches of the evening going down to a 10-point tiebreak.
Alexia Jacobs (No. 2 singles) was the first to finish, defeating Boise State’s Marruffo in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Melissa Sakar finished shortly after on court 4, defeating the Broncos’ Heffernan 6-1, 6-0.
Scores on courts 5 and 6 stayed closer, with Sarah-Maude Fortin clinching the match and the fourth point of the evening for the Huskies with her 6-1, 6-4 victory over Discenza (BSU).

Dariya Detkovskaya was the last singles court to finish in two sets, as the senior defeated Boise State’s Shah 7-5, 6-1.
Erka Matsuda (No. 1 singles) Astrid Olsen (No. 3 singles) both went to a 10-point tiebreak as they both split sets.
Olsen gave the Huskies the sixth point with her win, but Matsuda lost her tiebreak, 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.
The Huskies will look to keep up their dominant play as they host Baylor on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Nordstrom Tennis Center.
