CLEMSON, S.C. βΒ Clemson Menβs Tennis team is set to open up their season in a home double header as they take on SoCon members Furman and Wofford at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility on Sunday. The Tigers will take on the Paladins at noon and the Terriers at 5 p.m. A short ceremony will take place at 11:50 to honor the Duckworth Family and their contributions to the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. The live stream for the match is available here.
Clemson will face a familiar opponent in Furman for the 102nd time in the history of the programs. Clemson dominates the series 82-18-1 and most recently defeated the Paladins in 2022 6-1 at home. The Tigers also hold the advantage against the Wofford Terriers 30-13 and have won the last 13 matches. The last meeting between the two teams was in 2022, with Clemson sweeping the Terriers, 7-0.
Head Coach Robbie Weiss enters his fourth season with the Tigers and looks to improve upon a 13 win season last year, the most for Clemson since 2016. Weiss added assistant coach Austin Rapp to the staff in the offseason. Rapp was a four year player and All-American at UCLA and was previously the volunteer assistant coach at the University of Texas.
The Tigers return eight student-athletes from last yearβs roster, including ITAβs No. 118 player in the country in Ryuhei Azuma. Head Coach Robbie Weiss also brings in five-star recruit, Ethan Silva who will look to make an impact.
