Women’s Tennis Performs Well on Day Two at Michigan Spring Invitational


ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Ole Miss women’s tennis grabs four singles win, including a ranked win on day two at Michigan Spring Invitational. The Rebels faced No. 17 Ohio State in singles and No. 24 Tennessee in doubles.
 
Ole miss started the day playing singles. Reka Zadori gave the Rebels their first singles win of the week, defeating Kathleen Jones in dominant fashion, 6-0, 6-3. Kelsey Mize held strong, winning the tiebreaker in the first set which set up a 7-6(4), 6-2, straight set victory. Finishing closely behind Mize, No. 89 Lillian Gabrielsen also won in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5.
 
Ludmila Kareisova highlighted singles play by defeating No. 116 Kolie Allen, 6-4, 6-4. Kareisova has won four of her last five singles matches.
 
In doubles action, the Rebels unfortunately were unable to earn a win over the No. 24 Volunteers.
 
The women’s team looks to bounce back against the same Tennessee team in singles on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. The Rebels will also compete against No. 20 Michigan in doubles on Sunday afternoon.
