Alabama Men’s Tennis Samofalov Concludes Singles Play At The ITA All-American Championships


Tulsa, Okla. – Alabama men’s tennis player German Samofalov concluded his singles competition at the ITA All-American Championships Tuesday, falling in the qualifying consolation round at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Samofalov competed against Utah State’s David Cierny in the consolation bracket, dropping 6-2, 6-2 in the match.

Samofalov faced North Carolina State’s Luca Staeheli in the qualifying round on Monday. He battled in both sets, but fell 7-5, 7-5.

The No. 33 doubles duo of Samofalov and Filip Planinsek will compete in the qualifying doubles round of the ITA All-American Tournament Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. CT.  No. 13 Filip Planinsek is set to play Ohio State’s Alexander Bernard Wednesday at 11 a.m. CT.
