LOS ANGELES- USC men’s tennis (5-10, 0-1 Pac-12) faces No. 28 UCLA (7-6, 0-2 Pac-12) in the cross-town cup at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 29, at the Marks Tennis Stadium in Los Angeles.
RANKINGS
The Trojans enter this weekend as the No. 47th ranked team in the country (ITA Rankings, Mar. 19). USC currently hosts three-ranked individuals (Mar. 19). Junior Peter Makk is the highest-ranking individual, ranked #73. Sitting behind him is #106 freshman Volodymyr Iakubenko followed by senior Lodewijk Weststrate coming in a #122.
USC currently does not have a ranked doubles squad.
LAST TIME UP
Due to weather conditions on Saturday, Mar. 24, play was suspended against No. 20 Arizona State. USC led 2-1 leaving the match unfinished.
Earlier in the week, the Trojans were swept by the No. 6 Arizona at the Mark Tennis Center on Friday, Mar. 22.
SCOUTING UCLA
The Bruins come into the matchup ranked No. 28 (ITA Rankings, Mar. 26), as they are 7-6 (0-2 Pac-12) in the early portion of conference play this season. UCLA has on ranked individual in #28 Govind Nanda (ITA Rankings Mar. 19). The Bruins do not currently have a ranked doubles squad.
UCLA recently started Pac-12 play, as it lost to both Arizona State (L, 4-2) and Arizona (L, 4-1) last weekend.
