Florida State Travels to Cary, N.C. for ACC Championships

ACC Championship Information

TALLAHASSEE –  No. 18 Florida State (17-7, 8-3 ACC) travels to Cary, N.C., for the 2023 ACC Men’s Tennis Championship, which will be held from April 19-23 at the Cary Tennis Park.  The Seminoles qualified as a the No.5 seed and will face the winner of 12th-seeded Clemson and No.13 Boston College in the second round on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

Florida State played both Boston College and Clemson in the regular season, posting a 2-0 record, sweeping Boston College 7-0, and defeating No. 55 Clemson by a 4-0 margin.  Florida State heads into Thursday’s match with 26 wins all-time in the ACC tournament.

Florida State is led by No. 6-ranked Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who obtained the highest men’s singles ranking in program history on February 21, 2023, where he listed at No. 2. Cornut-Chauvinc totaled 15 wins this spring, with 10 wins over nationally-ranked-opponents, including a win over former No. 1 Ethan Quinn of Georgia. 

The Seminoles opened the season with five straight wins, including a victory over No. 7 Georgia in which FSU totaled six ranked wins in one match. In addition to Cornut-Chauvinc defeated the top-ranked singles player in straight-sets, the Noles also claimed victories over the No. 21, No. 70 and No. 121 ranked singles players, and the No. 19 and No. 55 ranked doubles pairs en route to a 5-2 win.

Florida State also produced an eight-match win streak in the middle of the season that included six consecutive ACC wins. This win streak helped the Seminoles post a 10-1 record at home this season. 

The Seminoles shut out their opponents in seven matches this season, including three ranked shutouts against No. 29 Louisville, No. 43 Notre Dame and No. 55 Clemson. Florida State also defeated 8 ranked opponents, including a 4-2 victory over No. 14 Wake Forest and a 5-2 victory over No. 7 Georgia. 

Single day tickets are priced at $10 for adults (ages 18 and older; children under 9 and ACC students get in free with school ID) and $7 for youth ages 17 and under. A full Championship pass for all five days is priced at $25. Tickets may be purchased online at https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/11254. All seating for the tournament is General Admission.
