Charlottesville, Va.– The No. 15 Florida State men’s tennis team fell to No. 21 Virginia 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Boar’s Head Tennis Center.
Virginia won the doubles point after winning 6-2 on court No.1 and 6-3 on court No. 2. Alex Bulte and Loris Pourroy were leading 4-3 at court No. 3 when Virginia clinched the doubles point.
Wins by Virginia at No. 3 and No. 6 put them on the brink of clinching the match. No. 36-ranked Chris Rodesch’s 6-2, 6-4 victory at court No. 1 gave Virginia the 4-0 victory.
Two Seminoles were leading in second sets when the match concluded. Loris Pourroy was leading No. 43 Inaki Montes 4-3 at No. 2 and No. 116th-ranked Andreja Petrovic was winning 4-0 at No. 5.
Florida State is now 8-4 on the season. Florida State resumes action on Friday with a match at Wake Forest at 5 p.m. Live stats and live video will be available on Seminoles.com.
