2024 ACC Men's Tennis All-ACC Honors Unveiled

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State’s Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc has been selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Tennis Player of the Year and highlights the 2024 Men’s Tennis All-ACC Teams.

Virginia’s Dylan Dietrich garnered Freshman of the Year honors, while the Seminoles’ Dwayne Hultquist was selected as Coach of the Year.

The honors, announced Thursday, were determined by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

Cornut-Chauvinc, currently the No. 3-ranked player in the ITA Singles Top 25, has accumulated a 22-2 record over the course of the 2023-24 season. The Lyon, France, native clinched the 2024 ACC Men’s Tennis Championship for Florida State for the first time in program history. He and Virginia’s No. 4 Chris Rodesch were in a battle after splitting the first two sets in the championship match. Cornut-Chauvinc rallied from a 5-2 deficit to tie the third set at 5-5. The senior won the next game to make it 6-5 before scoring four straight points to clinch the championship title with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (4-7), 7-5 victory.

Dietrich leads all ACC freshmen with a 19-5 record, winning the last 11 of his 13 conference matches. The native of Zurich, Switzerland, posted a 3-0 record in the ACC Championship to help his team reach the finals. Dietrich was named the ACC Freshman of the Week six times this season and is ranked No. 51 in the nation.

Hultquist led the sixth-seeded Seminoles to four victories in four days to become the lowest seed in league history to win the 2024 ACC Men’s Tennis Championship – the first in Florida State history. Following the championship, Florida State jumped 11 spots to sit at No. 9 in the ITA rankings and earned an automatic bid into the 2024 NCAA Championship. This is Hultquist’s second Coach of the Year award, as he previously won in 2018.

Eighteen student-athletes were selected to the All-ACC Singles Teams, while nine doubles pairs were voted to the All-ACC Doubles Teams. Virginia led all schools with six selections, while four others had four apiece.

The 2024 NCAA Selection Show is set for Monday, April 29, at 6 p.m. (men’s) and 6:30 p.m. (women’s). Individual championship competitors will later be announced in a NCAA.com press release on Tuesday, April 30.
