Women’s Tennis Sweeps Ducks on Road

Eugene, Ore.- In their final match for the month of March, No. 39 Sun Devil Women’s Tennis (9-8, 1-4 Pac-12) ended the month on a high note as they picked up a sweep over conference foe No. 61 Oregon (9-7, 0-4 Pac-12) at the Student Tennis Center on Friday afternoon.
 
The Sun Devils took the doubles point as the No. 34-ranked duo Chelsea Fontenel/Patricija Spaka picked up a 6-1 win on Court 1 while Rachel Hanford/Emilija Tverijonaite clinched the doubles point on Court 3 winning 6-3.
 
In the third spot, Sara Svetac picked up the first singles win for the Sun Devils to put them ahead 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-4 over Chan of Oregon. No. 82 Tverijonaite picked up the second win on Court 2 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. The clincher came from Fontenel on Court as she picked up a 6-1, 6-2 to win the match in a 4-0 sweep for ASU.
