Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Status, Buyckx, Sipek, Thompson Named Scholar-Athletes – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Clemson women’s tennis team earned All-Academic team recognition, the ITA announced on Monday. The team had a 3.44 GPA for the 2021-22 season, good for third best of any women’s program at Clemson.

Samantha Buyckx earned a spot as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, as she achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA for the year. Buyckx had a stellar first season with Clemson after transferring from LSU, going 22-9 in singles play and qualifying for the NCAA Doubles Tournament alongside partner Ali DeSpain.

Jenna Thompson was named to the list. She had a 18-9 singles record predominantly playing from Court 3. Lana Sipek qualified as an ITA Scholar-Athlete as well, sporting an 8-11 singles record and 7-9 doubles record on the season.
