Women’s Tennis Continues to Move Up ITA Rankings


DURHAM – Head coach Jamie Ashworth and the Duke women’s tennis team continue to move up the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings as the Blue Devils come in at No. 4 in the latest listing  released on Wednesday.  

It marked the second straight week the Blue Devils inched up a spot in the rankings, following a 5-0 start to open the 2023 campaign.  

Texas continues to hold the top slot, while North Carolina, Texas A&M, Duke, Georgia, Stanford, Virginia, Pepperdine, Vanderbilt and NC State close out the top 10.  A total of four teams from the ACC are ranked in the top 10.  

The Blue Devils feature three ranked singles players – Chloe Beck (#3), Emma Jackson (#22) and Cameron Morra (#28) – along with one ranked doubles duo – Beck/Morra (#13).  Beck has paced Duke with a 13-3 singles mark and has won seven straight matches.  Morra (10-6), Brianna Shvets (10-4), Jackson (9-5) and Ellie Coleman (8-3) have eight or more singles wins.  

Duke will conclude an eight-match homestand this weekend as the Blue Devils host Harvard on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 12 p.m., followed by a pair of matches on Sunday, Feb. 5 against Georgetown (2 p.m.) and NCCU (6:30 p.m.).
