Women’s Tennis Closes Out Road Schedule Loss to LSU

Tennessee

BATON ROUGE, La. – Ole Miss women’s tennis wrapped up its road regular season schedule with a 5-2 loss to LSU. Lillian Gabrielsen and Reka Zadori continue to improve on their career season in singles.

After a loss at No. 1 doubles, Ole Miss (9-10, 3-8 SEC) leveled the score with a victory on Court Three. Nearly winning their match on Friday before going unfinished, Ludmila Kareisova and Emma Kette earned their first doubles win as a pairing. The duo took their match by a score 6-2.

Unfortunately, the Rebels dropped their No. 2 doubles match, losing the doubles point and falling behind 1-0.

However, Ole Miss did not stay down for long as Reka Zadori cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles. Zadori grabbed her whopping 19th singles win of the season for her 45th win of her career.

However, courts one, two and four would fall to their LSU opponents, giving the Tigers the victory. Kette and Gabrielsen continued to play, heading to a third set.

Kette lost her first set but forced a third when she took the second set, 7-5. She went on to play a third-set super tiebreaker but lost 10-4. Lillian also dropped her first set 6-4 then climbed back into the match with a 6-3 second-set victory. The senior fought in a standard third set and finished it with a 6-4 win.

The Rebels return home on Friday, April 14 against Georgia, starting a 2 p.m. CT
