Women's Tennis Begins Spring Slate at Michigan Spring Invitational


ANNE ARBOR, MI – Ole Miss women’s tennis hits the road to begin their spring schedule. The Rebels are set to compete in the Michigan Spring Invitational in Anne Arbor for the weekend, starting on January 13 and ending on January 15.Β  The first two days will start at 10 a.m. CT and Sunday will start at 9 a.m. CT.

The Rebels are sending seven players to compete in both singles and doubles matches. Michigan, Ohio State and Tennessee will also be competing this weekend at the tournament.

FORMAT OF PLAY
Β 
Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles. There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per round. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day. The third set will be played to completion in singles.

MATCH SCORING
Β 
The NCAA uses no-ad scoring in both doubles and singles action. This weekend’s tournament will feature doubles matches to six, with a tiebreaker occurring at 6-all. Singles matches will be best two-of-three, with players playing a full third set.

Lillian Gabrielsen (Sr.) – Oslo, Norway

  • A 14-10 singles record and 21-13 doubles record during the 2021-22 season
  • This fall she went 7-4 in tournament play including making into the ITA Fall National Championships in singles as the South Region runner-up
  • Reached the round of 16 in doubles at the ITA South Region Championships in 2021

Ludmile Kareisova (So.) – Liberec, Czechia

  • Earned an overall record 12-12 in singles and 16-11 in doubles last season
  • ITA South Region Championships doubles runner-up which earned her a spot in the ITA National Championship…
