Wolfpack Women’s Tennis Selected as Host for 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend

TEMPE, Ariz. – For the fourth year in a row, the NC State women’s tennis team is set to play host as a site for next season’s 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend. The event will take place Jan. 28-29, and Raleigh will be one of 15 host sites for the weekend.

No. 6 NC State, the top seed in its section of the Kickoff Weekend bracket, will welcome No. 26 Vanderbilt, No. 39 Furman and No. 53 Illinois to the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center in January.

This marks the seventh consecutive season that the Pack will compete in the event, which serves as regional action for the 2023 ITA National Team Indoor Championships. Each team will play two matches during Kickoff Weekend, and the squad that wins both of its contests will advance to the 16-team national tournament in February.

The Wolfpack is coming off its second-straight NCAA Championships quarterfinals berth after never advancing past the Round of 16 prior to 2021. The team tied its program-best final ranking of No. 6 and ended the year with a 26-6 record, with those 26 victories marking the most in a single season in team history.

At the 2022 ITA National Team Indoor Championships, NC State made its deepest-ever run at the tournament as it earned a spot in the national semifinal.

The Pack’s full 2022-23 schedule will be released at a later date.
