Wisconsin Competes In Consolation on Final Day of B1GS

MADISON, Wisc. – On the fourth and final day of the Big Ten Individual Championships, all eight badgers competed in singles consolation matches.

Edouard Aubert displayed exceptional skill in his match against Northwestern’s Yang. Mixing in drop shots and tedious backhands, he conquered his match 6-2, 6-2. Similarly, Michael Minasyan went up against former No. 1 seed Ben Kittay in a match filled with back-and-forth action. Minasyan ultimately prevailed, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

Sachiv Kumar had an outstanding performance in the first set against Nebraska’s Wells to dominate the set, 6-1. While Wells put up a fight in the second set, Kumar was able to overcome and win the second set, 7-5. Oliver Olsson put up a fight against his Northwestern challenger after losing the first set, 64. He rallied back to win the second set, 6-4, and then the third set tie-breaker, 10-5.

Up Next: The Badgers will spend the next two months preparing for the official spring season. The first match is scheduled to begin on Sunday, January 10th at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Florida.
