Salt Lake City – The Cats won their match against No. 53 Utah after freshman Midori Castillo clinched with her 6-4, 4-6, 5-3 singles win against Lindsay Hung.
Despite dropping the doubles point the Wildcats came back to win the match with four singles points. Kayla Wilkins put Arizona on the board after defeating Emily Dush in straight sets 6-2, 6-2.
Two of the three seniors shined in today’s match. Khim Iglupas won her match 6-4, 7-5 against Anastasia Goncharova. Kirsten Prelle was down 1-6 in her first set against Madison Tattini, but came back 6-0, 6-3 in the last two sets.
This marks the third conference win for the women’s team, who is now 15-8 heading into Sunday, April 10th’s match against Colorado at 9 a.m. The women are back in Arizona for a rivalry match against Arizona State on Saturday, April 16 at 12 p.m. in Tempe.
