CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team jumped two spots in this week’s ITA rankings, claiming the No. 11 position, as announced Tuesday morning.
Miami (11-3, 6-1 ACC) returns to its season-opening No. 11 spot, after dropping to No. 30 in late February.
The upward movement from the Hurricanes comes after a pair of victories at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center, highlighted by a top-10 win over then-nine-ranked Virginia. The Hurricanes took down Virginia, 6-1, Friday afternoon and followed that with a 7-0 win over then-No. 64. Virginia Tech two days later.
The Hurricanes are now ranked in the top 15 for the sixth time in 10 rankings releases in 2023.
Thirteen of the ACC’s 14 teams are ranked in the top 75, including 10 in the top 30, seven in the top 25, five in the top 15 and three in the top 10. Miami is featured alongside top-ranked North Carolina, seventh-ranked NC State, eighth-ranked Duke, No. 12 Virginia, No. 20 Georgia Tech, No. 22 Notre Dame, No. 27 Wake Forest, No. 28 Syracuse, No. 30 Clemson, No. 38 Florida State, No. 45 Boston College and No. 74 Virginia Tech.

Miami heads to the state of North Carolina this weekend for a pair of top-10 matches. The Hurricanes will face-off with eighth-ranked Duke on Friday at 2 p.m., followed by a showdown with top-ranked North Carolina on Sunday at 1 p.m.
