Vols Dominate on Final Day of Wake Forest Invitational


WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.  Members of Tennessee’s tennis squad went undefeated in singles play to show out on the final day the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted at Wake Forest Tennis Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.
 
The Vols collected 12 total wins during the weekend-long event, with Angel Diaz going a perfect 3-0 on the singles courts.
 
Diaz secured a statement win over #30 Wallin of Texas Tech in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, recording his second career victory over a top-50th ranked opponent.
 
Chris Li logged a 6-3,7-6(3) over Texas Tech’s Esquici while Filip Apltauer overcame Cornell’s Dossani 7-5, 6-3. Filip Pieczonka claimed victory in a hard-fought three sets, defeating Paquette of Cornell 7-6, 3-6, 6-2.
