Vols Add Transfer Ian Cruz for 2024-25

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Ian Cruz has signed with the Tennessee men’s team and will join the Vols for the 2024-25 campaign, head coach Chris Woodruff announced Tuesday.

The third transfer to ink with UT for next year’s slate, Cruz spent three seasons at Belmont, where he tallied a 64-23 singles record and 34-19 doubles mark. In 2024, the junior posted a 16-3 dual match record at the No. 2 singles position, including a perfect 17-0 conference mark. In doubles play, Cruz went undefeated (8-0) alongside Alfred Wallin, playing at the No. 2 and 3 spots.

“Ian is an extremely competitive individual,” Tennessee associate head coach James McKie said. “Our great fans will love his fight and toughness on the court. He is coming to us from a really great program in Belmont and we are looking forward to helping him reach his goals in his last year of college tennis.” Cruz, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, holds a UTR of 12.64.
