Virginia Men's Tennis | Three Cavaliers Competing in the ITA All-American Singles Championship

TULSA, Okla. –  Three members of the Virginia men’s tennis team will be competing in the main draw of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s first national tournament of the year, the ITA Men’s All-American Championships, being held Oct. 5-9 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Juniors Iñaki Montes, Chris Rodesch and Jeffrey von der Schulenburg will all be competing.

Montes is ranked No. 4 in the preseason singles rankings with Rodesch at No. 7 and von der Schulenburg at No. 21.

Nineteen of the top twenty ranked players in the ITA Collegiate Tennis National Preseason Rankings are entered into the main draw of the singles championship. The 64-player draw is comprised of 48 automatic qualifiers based on preseason national rankings, regional representation, at-large bids and wild cards, and 16 players advancing from the qualifying tournament.

Cavaliers have won the ITA All-American singles title five times, most recently by Thai-Son Kwiatkowski in 2015.

Last year, Rodesch and Ryan Goetz won the consolation doubles title while Rodesch was runner-up in the consolation singles bracket.
