Virginia Men's Tennis | Chris Rodesch Wins His First ITF WTT Singles Title

VEJLE, Denmark – Virginia men’s tennis rising junior Chris Rodesch (Angelsberg, Luxembourg) won the singles title at the ITF World Tennis Tour 15K clay-court tournament in Vejle, Denmark on Sunday (July 31).

It was the first ITF WTT singles title of Rodesch’s career. He has won two doubles titles this summer, making this his third pro-level championship this summer.

Rodesch topped his doubles partner, Mick Veldheer, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 in the final after edging August Holmgren 7-5, 6-4 in the semifinals. Holmgren, a USD alum, was the 2022 NCAA Singles runner-up and the 2021 ITA Fall Nationals singles champion. Rodesch and Veldheer advanced to the second round in the doubles draw.

Rodesch is 13-2 in ITF WTT singles matches this year. In June, her was the runner-up in singles at the 15K in Duffel and made the quarterfinals at the 25K in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.
