WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Members of the Virginia men’s tennis team competed as individuals Friday through Sunday, Nov. 1-3, at the Wake Forest Invitational in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Virginia competed against players from 15 other schools in the last non-ITA event of the fall.
Freshman Keegan Rice finished with a 3-1 record in singles on the weekend. Junior Ty Switzer also competed in singles. Switzer partnered with graduate student James Hopper in doubles.

Friday, Nov. 1
In doubles, Ty Switzer and James Hopper split matches against opponents from South Carolina and College of Charleston. In singles, the Cavaliers lost both matches.
Saturday, Nov. 2
In singles, Keegan Rice won both of his matches, defeating opponents from Cleveland State and Auburn. In doubles, Switzer and Hopper fell to opponents from UNC Greensboro.
Sunday, Nov. 3
The Cavaliers picked up two singles wins, with Rice and Switzer winning in straight sets against opponents from Wake Forest and James Madison.
