Utah’s Win Streak Ends With 4-3 Loss to UW

Box Score The University of Utah’s men’s tennis team’s win streak came to an end with a 4-3 loss to Washington Sunday afternoon. 

The match started off with UW claiming the doubles point by picking up wins in both the No. 3 and No. 1 spots while the No. 2 spot went unfinished. 

In singles action the Utes started off strong with wins in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots. First, Berk Bugarijk defeated Jim Hendrikx at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-4 score. Patrik Trhac then picked up a 7-5, 6-3 win over Brett Pearson in the No. 6 spot. 

UW then picked up a win at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots to take a 3-2 lead in the match. 

Geronimo Espin Busleiman defeated Han-Chih Lin with a 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 score in the No. 1 spot to tie the match 3-3.

It all came down to the No. 4 singles spot where Utah’s Bruno Caula took his match into a full three sets but ultimately fell 7-5, 4-6, 4-6. Washington came away with the 4-3 win over Utah.
