LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – USC Women’s Tennis defended their home court in the Women of Troy Invite this past weekend, securing victories across the board.
Junior Parker Fry and Senior Naomi Cheong won hardware for USC, securing the doubles championship with wins over Lu/Richardson from UCSB, Cruz/Horwood from Utah and Kosan/Main from Pacific. This is the second year in a row that the USC has captured the doubles title at the Women of Troy invite, following junior Grace Piper’s victory with then-graduate student Nathalie Rodilosso last season.
In singles play, Fry, redshirt junior McKenna Koenig and junior Sloane Morra all went 2-1 over the course of the tournament, while redshirt junior Gabrielle Lee was victorious in her only match of the weekend.
Now, the Women of Troy will look to stay hot as they prepare to head down to San Diego for the ITA Southwest Regional Championship. The tournament will take place from Thursday, Oct. 19 through Monday, Oct. 23.
