Women’s Tennis | May 26, 2022

CHAMPAIGN, ILL. – USC junior Eryn Cayetano’s debut run in NCAA Individual Championships action came to a close today in the Singles Quarterfinals. Up against No. 2 seed Peyton Stearns of Texas, No. 7 seed Cayetano dropped the first set, rebounded to claim the second but ultimately fell during the third. The loss wrapped up her third season as a Trojan and capped a junior campaign that included All-American honors and a whopping 39 singles victories.

Yesterday, Trojan Salma Ewing fell during the NCAA Singles Round of 16 to a familiar foe in Stanford’s Connie Ma. This year marked Ewing’s second appearance (third selection) in the NCAA Singles competition, with the All-American recording her first NCAA singles win during the First Round.

In the final ITA Team Rankings (released May 25), the Women of Troy wrapped the regular season ranked 20th overall.
