USC's Eryn Cayetano and Emma Charney Capture ITA All-American Doubles Consolation Title

Women’s Tennis | October 08, 2023

LOS ANGELES – USC women’s tennis graduate student Eryn Cayetano and sophomore Emma Charney whipped up an impressive performance in Cary, North Carolina the past week, walking away as the 2023 ITA All-American Doubles Consolation Champions.

After losing their first match in the main draw, Cayetano and Charney battled back to win three straight in the consolation draw and reach the final. An unfortunate situation for UGA as they’d be forced to withdrawal from the final match due to an injury, resulting in a walkover win for Cayetano and Charney.

Additionally, two more Trojans were in action at the ITA Women’s All-American Championships, with Grace Piper and Parker Fry going on a three-match run in prequals to reach the qualifying doubles round of 64. They’d eventually fall in the first round of qualifying play.

Individually, USC’s best performance came from Charney, who reached the qualifying singles round of 64.
