LOS ANGELES- USC men’s tennis (5-13, 0-3 Pac-12) hosts No. 51 California (10-7, 3-1 Pac-12) for senior day, as it starts capping off the Pac-12 season at 3 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 12,. The Trojans will host top 20 opponent No. 19 Stanford (13-4, 5-0 Pac-12) in their second meeting this season and final home game of the season at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Apr. 13. at the Marks Tennis Center in Los Angeles.
RANKINGS
The Trojans enter this weekend as the No. 54th ranked team in the country (ITA Rankings, Apr. 09). USC currently hosts one individual (Apr. 09), junior Peter Makk, ranked #82.
The Trojans currently have one ranked doubles squad in Peter Makk and Lodewijk Weststrate sitting at the 55th position.
LAST TIME UP
The Trojans battled it out against crosstown rival UCLA falling 4-1 on Friday, Mar. 29.
Lodewijk Weststrate had the sole victory for USC beating his opponent at the No. 2 singles spot 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA
The Bears come into the matchup as the No .51 team as they are 10-7 (3-1 Pac-12) as conference play is being rounded out in the season. California currently has three ranked individuals in #81 Ryder Jackson, #119 Carl Emil Overbeck, and #123 Alex Chang . The Bears have one ranked doubles team in Alex Chang and Michael Wright currently sitting at #41 (ITA Rankings, Apr. 08).
SCOUTING STANFORD
The Cardinal come into the matchup as the No. 19 team as they are 14-4 (5-0 Pac-12) at this point of the season. Stanford currently has two ranked individuals in #23 Nishesh Basavareddy and #47 Samir Banerjee. The Cardinal has two ranked doubles squads, #42 Max Basing and Nicholas Godsick and #75 Samir Banerjee and Nishesh Basavareddy (ITA Rankings, Apr. 08).
