UNC Doubles Teams Advance To Main Draw Quarterfinals


CARY, N.C. – At the conclusion of day two of the ITA Women’s All-American Championships Main Draw, Carolina saw two doubles teams advance to the quarterfinals.

To begin doubles play, Reese Brantmeier and Elizabeth Scotty picked up a quick 6-1, 6-2 victory over Ohio State’s Irina Cantos-Siemers and Sydni Ratliff to cement their spot in the round of eight.

Later in the day, Fiona Crawley and Carson Tanguilig picked up a straight-set victory over NC State’s Amelia Rajecki and Maddy Zampardo, 6-2, 6-4.

The quarterfinals are scheduled to begin today with both teams scheduled to play at 2 p.m.

The Tar Heels will finish out the week in the ITA All-American Championships in Cary before hosting the ITA Carolina Regional Championships beginning October 19th at the Chewning Tennis Center.
