TUCSON, Ariz. – Nishesh Basavareddy scored the game-winning point on court number one, clinching a 4-3 victory over No. 7 Arizona to wrap up an unbeaten road weekend in conference play. Stanford improves to 12-4 this season and 4-0 in the Pac-12.

The afternoon started with success in doubles, as the Cardinal put together winning performances on courts one and three. Winning at No. 1 doubles for the second consecutive outing, Basavareddy and Samir Banerjee collected a 6-1 win before Arizona responded with a victory on court two. Kyle Kang and Neel Rajesh clinched the doubles advantage on court three with a 6-2 win.

Kang doubled the Stanford advantage with an efficient 6-3, 6-2 triumph on court four over a top-100 opponent. The Wildcats responded to pull within one, 2-1, but Neel Rajesh picked up his seventh-straight win on court five, 6-4, 6-4. Arizona, undeterred, battled back on courts two and three to tie the match at 3-3.

Basavareddy first survived a marathon tiebreaker in his first set, earning a 12-10 win, but dropped his second set against the nation’s No. 14 player. Regrouping in the third set, the sophomore went up a break early and earned a 6-3 win in the final frame.
