TULSA, OKLA.—Three Tar Heel men’s tennis players won their initial matches on Tuesday in the Qualifying Draw Consolation bracket of the 2023 ITA Men’s All-American Championship.
Karl Poling, Will Peters and Anuj Watane all advanced to the round of 32 with their Tuesday victories.
Poling defeated Cooper Williams of Harvard in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Peters beat Kentucky’s Taha Baadi, 7-5, 6-4, and Watane downed Noah Berry of Cal Poly in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
