LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With fall play around the corner, the International Tennis Association (ITA) preseason rankings featured two Louisville Cardinals in the singles top-125 and one pair of Cards teammates in the doubles top-60.
In the first rankings released Sept. 6, 2022, Fabien Salle is heading into the season ranked No. 84 in the nation, while Sergio Hernandez comes in at No. 111.
Salle returns to Louisville after spending the 2021-22 season at Arizona State where he was ranked as high as No. 52 in singles and No. 29 in doubles. In his time with the Cardinals, he posted a 13-2 overall record in dual match play and went 7- 0 against ACC opponents in the 2020-2021 season, earning second-team All-ACC honors.
Hernandez is entering his fifth year with Louisville and finished his senior season with a 17-3 dual match record in singles while collecting 10 doubles wins.
For doubles, the duo of Fabien Salle and Natan Rodrigues enters the fall season ranked No. 48.
Rodrigues, who will be in his sophomore season, ended his freshman campaign with 11 doubles victories, splitting time between Nos. 1 and 2. 17-6 singles record, and picked up a singles victory in the 2022 ACC tournament over Clemson.
