Terrapins Lose To No. 12 Ohio State, 6-1

Box Score COLLEGE PARK, MD- The No. 49 Maryland Terrapins lost to No. 12 Ohio State 6-1 on Friday in Columbus.

Ohio State opened the match winning the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles matches to secure the doubles point and a 1-0 lead.

In the No. 6 singles, Ohio State’s Audrey Spencer defeated Francesca Feodorov 6-2, 6-0 to extend Ohio State’s lead to 2-0. In the No. 2 singles match, Ohio State pushed ahead 3-0 with #41 Luciana Perry defeating Minorka Miranda 6-0, 6-4.

In the No. 4 singles match Ohio State’s Shelly Bereznyak defeated Maria Budin 6-4, 6-2 to clinch the win for Ohio State. Ohio State’s Teah Chaves followed defeating Diya Challa 6-4, 6-3.

In the No. 1 singles match, #85 Selma Cadar came back after losing the first set to defeat #12 Irina Cantos Siemers 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 to put Maryland on the board.

#118 Sydni Ratliff closed out the match defeating Kallista Liu in the No. 3 singles match 7-6 (5), 6-2 to seal the 6-1 win for Ohio State.
