Terps Clinch a 4-0 Victory Over Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS, MN. – The No. 49 University of Maryland women’s tennis team (14-3, 3-1 B1G) beat Minnesota (5-12, 0-6 B1G), 4-0 on the road this Friday. The team won the doubles point on court 2 and court 3 by a default win, and courts 3, 5, and 6 in the singles.

Hannah McColgan clinched the match for the Terps on court 5 with a straight set victory 6-0, 6-2.

Coach Dougherty’s Remarks

“Minnesota has been traditionally a difficult place and team to play at home and today was no different. They’re down with injuries but battled hard and the team did a nice to pull out doubles. We competed well at all spots and executed very well at a couple spots and happy to get a Big Ten road win. We have a big test on Sunday with top 20 Wisconsin coming in. Can’t wait to be back home finally on our courts and I know this team is up for the challenge.”
