Terps Battle Through The Storm To Top Penn State, 4-2

COLLEGE PARK, MD – The No. 59 University of Maryland women’s tennis team (16-7, 5-5 B1G) defeated No. 62 Penn State (11-13, 3-7 B1G) 4-2 on Saturday morning at the Junior Tennis Champions Center.

The Terps picked up the opening point of the match after taking doubles play with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. 

The Terps scored 2 points in No. 2 and No. 6 singles. Minorka Miranda won her match against Yvonne Zuffova in straight sets and Francesca Feodorov also won in straight sets 6-1, 7-5. With these points the Terps led 3-0. Penn State made the match 3-2 after Hannah McColgan and Marta Perez Mur were unable to win at No. 1 and No. 6 in the singles.

Kallista Liu clinched the match for the Terps on court 4 with a third set victory 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
