WACO, Texas — University of Missouri women’s tennis team closes out the first day of action at the H-E-B Invitational at Baylor University.
Mizzou secured two wins on the day – one in both singles and one in doubles. Senior Mae Canete picked up the singles win for the Tigers against Denver. The doubles squad of Canete and junior Inah Canete snagged the doubles win of the day against Baylor.
The Tigers will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. with doubles matches against Denver and singles matches against Nebraska at 10 a.m. The day will end with more doubles matches against Denver, not before 1:30 p.m.

- Otis (Denver) def. Andrea Artimedi (Missouri) 6-4, 6-4, 10-3
- Martinez de Velasco (Denver) def. Romary Cardenas (Missouri)
- Evans (Denver) def. Sophia McLellan (Missouri) 6-2, 6-2

UP NEXT
Mizzou will continue the 2023 fall season with the ITA Regionals starting on Thursday, Oct. 12. Lawrence, Kan. Meanwhile, senior Mae Canete will compete at the ITA All-American Championship, with her first match on Monday, Oct. 8, in Cary, N.C.
