FORT WORTH, Texas — University of Missouri tennis travels to the Lone Star State for its final competition of the fall season to face off in the TCU Jae Foundation Fall Open. TCU is set to host the contest at Texas Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, scheduled to open on Thursday, Oct. 31 and close competition on Sunday, Nov. 3
The Black and Gold are slated as one of 18 Universities contending in the Hidden Dual format competition. Beginning the weekend with singles play against TCU on Thursday, Oct. 31, Mizzou will round out the day one schedule with afternoon doubles matches against TCU and Texas Tech and continue play through Sunday, Nov. 3.
The Tigers most recently returned from the ITA Central Regional Championships in Memphis, Tennessee, grabbing 12 team singles victories and one doubles across the four days of competition. Freshman Gian Octa battled her way to the B-Draw singles finals, picking up four hard-fought wins to push her to the final round. Octa fought to the tiebreak in her final match but could not hold on, falling to Deniz Turan of Minnesota, 6-3, 7-5, (10-8).
UP NEXT
After closing the fall schedule in Fort Worth, the Tigers will open their spring slate with the FIU Hidden Duals in Miami, Fla. The Black and Gold will begin play on Jan. 9 and wrap up competition on Jan. 12 at PayCargo Tennis Complex.
