Tennis Loses to Wisconsin in Debut of New Facility

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The Rutgers women’s tennis team (10-11, 1-9 B1G) made its debut at the all-new Livingston Tennis Center in a 4-1 loss to No. 29 Wisconsin (17-7, 8-2 B1G) on Saturday afternoon for its Letterwinner Celebration. Yana Gurevich continued her strong season, earning a ranked-singles victory over the Badgers.
 
Doubles
 
The Badgers earned wins on the first and second courts to claim the doubles point and an early lead in the dual.
 
Singles
 
Wisconsin pushed its lead to 3-0 with wins on the fourth and fifth courts.
 
Gurevich recorded her third-ranked victory of the campaign, battling to defeat No. 80 Maria Sholokhova, 6-1, 7-6(4).
 
The Badgers then clinched the match, winning on the second court.
 
Jackeline Lopez put together a strong performance on court six, winning her first set, 7-5. The junior was down two games to one in the second set at the conclusion of play.
